Following on from the earlier posting about the war memorial, it is great to report that Kirklees have re-tarmaced the area around it, and cleaned it up. Well done Kirklees! I will post photos of this soon.

I am a parish councillor on Denby Dale Parish Council, representing Clayton West. I will try my best to keep this fairly up to date with issues I am interested in that are being discussed at Parish Council.

I first found out about the Parish Council through a placement for my degree course with the Countryside Project back in 1997. I was elected in 2003 as Independant SOS, SOS standing for Save our Scissett. This was as part of a campaign to stop a massive development of new houses and supermarket in Scissett. This campaign is still active, but I also enjoy all the other issues involved with the parish council. I live in Clayton West with my partner and 5 year old son.
